Wednesday Day 16

Today is the day to have my follow up appointment. Mr Kriss removes the stitches puts a plaster on and pronounces the wound healthy. I can’t say how lovely it is not  have a bandage and can hardly wait to have a good scratch! He shows me how the movement of my foot is less when it is moved from side to side. Apparently I had a size seven stent put in – generally a six is used. This is because my joints are so lax and loose I think. He asks me about the pain and I find it hard to explain that sometimes I have a tremendous sharp pain and sometimes nothing. He reminds me it is early days. He doesn’t say it but I feel he would like to remind me that I am probably at the older end of his Hyprocure patient scale. He tells me to keep using the crutches to bear my weight for at least the next week or so and practise gripping the floor with my toes. Mr Kriss says he will see me in six weeks time – and I am sent off for x-rays.
